Some Christmas Gifts goodies Bee Luscious Garden Girl Palette

I had some lovely Christmas presents including the Bee Luscious Garden Girl Palette, I had been lusting after this for a long time, but didnt purchase due to the high price tag of £67.50.

But I have to say the quality is exceptional in my opinion, the eye shadows go on like a dream and blend superbly, the colours are amazing and come in lots of different finishes.

It has 16 eye shadows in their 4 blushers and 2 lipsticks, and their is nothing I dislike about this palette, the blushers are such gorgeous colours, I have to say this is one of the best palettes I have ever had. The palette can be bought from Cocobeau.co.uk

Charm

  • Fabulous range of shades and textures
  • Easy to blend and long-wearing
  • Colours for your lips, eyes and cheeks together in one palette
  •
    The Garden Girl Palette
These pics borrowed from Cocoa Beau show the colours off beautifully

Polychromatic Shadows offer a prismatic mix of metallic and pearlescent pigments that bring light to the eye. Dimensional Shadows have gloriously layered matte and pearl pigments and delicate light-catching reflects. Sheer Satin Shadow gives sheer colour and a soft shimmer finish. Mineral Shadows are soft shades with delicate shimmer. Mineral Matte Shadow give a smooth velvety finish with a soft pearlescent shimmery undertone. Mineral Matte Blushes are hypoallergenic, and contain matte pigments fused with the pearlescence of minerals giving a matte glow. Their soft, skin-smoothing texture leaves a finish, which highlights whilst deflecting light away from imperfections. Mineral Blushes are skin-kind, easy-blending, long-wearing, satiny blushes and give a gorgeous shimmery light-catching glow. Micro-Bubble Lipsticks offer rich creamy lip-loving colour.

    Famous Daves Moisure Tan Review

I always wanted to try this product as I had heard some good things and as a lot of you know I love my Faux tanning, tried loads on the market.

I saw that this was in the Debenhams sale at half price so ordered it, couldnt wait to try it.

I applied it at night after exfoliating this is the darkest one they do as I like a deep natural looking tan.

Another reason I purchased is because it states that there is no horrid faux tan smell that you get with alot of fake tanners. It smelled like cocnuts when I applied it, not much smell at all, however I woke the next morning with a headache as the fake tan smell was so strong that I couldnt wait to shower this off.

Hoping it would reveal a deep dark tan underneath I was a little dissapointed, it was hardly noticable, very ligh and golden.

I went back on to read more reviews and people were saying the same.

I applied a second coat much better, but I really think you would need to apply 3 or 4 coats before you went a nice dark colour and seeing as this is over £25.00 full price, that would work out pricey.

I would give this producr 6/10, dont think I would repurchse as it came off patchy too

    My new make up storage

Hi everyone , shortly before Christmas I decided it was time to sort out and renew my make up and storage. I went on a trip to Ikea after being inspired by many videos on you tube regarding the Malm drawers from Ikea, so off I went on a hunt.
Because my bedroom is shabby chic/Laura Ashley esqu they had to be in either white or cream, well thank goodness they do a cream set that I love.
These storage drawers are exactly what I was looking for I would recommend these to any one thinking of updating their storage.
Ikea do a range of storage drawers, some with mirrors on as well. so its well worth having a look as the sale should be on now too.
I also got some make up storage units made escpecially for holding lipsticks and make up etc, also from ikea these fit in the drawers, and they can be found in the bathroom section of Ikea, ive done a you tiube vid on these if you take a look.
While I was there I also updated my make up brush holder, by buying a small vase and bought some tiny coloured pebbles to go in the vase to stand the brushes up.
    Hre are some pics:

Help for thinning hair, medication Chemotherapy etc.

Having been ill and being and still am on lots of medication I have certainly been through the mill with my hair. I lost alot it went really fine and is thicker now but not the same as it was.
If like me your hair is fine or fine though medication, chemo etc then read on, I empathise as I know how awful it can be.
Fine and thinning hair requires quality products that will thicken and add volume to the hair. When shopping for hair products, its a good idea to avoid shampoos that contain sodium lauryl sulfate, a detergent used to strip the hair of oil and build-up. The detergent dries the hair out, and overdrying can lead to brittle hair prone to breakage. Protect your hair by reducing the frequency of shampooing, use volumizing products and avoid heavy gels and cremes. The goal is to use as little product in your hair as possible to avoid flat, greasy hair.

A good brush shouldnever pull at the scalp or tug and tangle the hair. It should easily smooth through hair without pulling at the hair. The bristles should be long enough to easily grab and hold the hair and still easily release as you pull it through the ends. It is best when the handle and base of half-round brushes are made out of rubber because this material reduces static (especially fine hair). Always avoid nylon-bristled brushes unless the have rubber tips. I made the mistake of not using one and my hair was full of static, its only with advice etc that ive learned.

Blow drying the hair In order to increase the volume of your hair, towel dry it after washing to remove the excess moisture. comb it thoroughly with a wide-tooth comb so that it is free of  tangles.

Before blow drying you may want to apply a styling gel or mousse. This is a good idea if your hair is fine, limp or naturally oily. When you apply the product to your hair,  apply it mainly to the roots. It is the inch or so of hair closest to the scalp that you want the product to strengthen so it will hold up. You don't want to use too much product on the ends of your hair, as it will serve to make the ends it heavier, weighing it down

To apply your mousse , take a small amount of the product in your palm, and part your hair with a comb. Dip a finger in the product and rub it along the part, into the roots. Part your hair again, approximately an inch over, and rub more along the root line. Repeat this, going from one side of your hair to the other. Then, take a comb and comb it through your hair to spread it evenly. This will keep the bulk of the product on the roots of the hair.

In order to gain volume by blow drying, it helps to have a good brush. The best brush to use is a large, round brush with vents to allow the air to flow through.

More heat will create more volume. Unfortunately, heat can also serve to damage and dry out your hair. You can help decrease the damaging effects of the heat by constantly keeping your drier in motion, rather than focusing on a single place at a time. With that technique and a good conditioner, you can help keep heat damage to a minimum.

The angle you hold your drier is of the utmost importance to obtain high volume. Angle your drier so that you are blowing up at the roots and towards the ends of the hair.

If you are able to bend over and hang your head down so your hair is hanging down toward the floor, you should do so. This is much easier and more effective than trying to hold your hair up with a brush. Simply brush through as you wave the drier at the roots. Dry all of the roots first, and work your way down toward the ends of your hair until completely dry. Then flip your hair over and style gently.

With these techniques, you will create a lift at the roots that will give your hair more volume, making it look much fuller than it may naturally be.

If you have any questions please ask, also please check with your Doctor or Consultant before using new products and heat if your scalp is hurting due to Chemo etc.

    Update and Christmas pressie bargains

Hi everyone sorry for not writing much in my blog at the moment, but as a lot of you who read my blog know my daughter broke her leg in two places, ankle and tibia.

She has a full cast on at the moment and has to go for xrays once a week to make sure the bone stays alighned, if it dosent she will have to have the operation and have a metal bar placed through the bone to keep the bone alighned.

Last xray they said it was acceptable and she has to go again next week, so shes still not out of the woods at the moment, but please keep all your fingers crossed for her.

Its been manic here one thing with my daughters leg, work and Christmas, I just havnt stopped, so ive been doing alot of my Christmas shopping online, and there are some good bargains to be had.

Debehams have their spectacular sale on at the moment so got some fragrances and make up as pressies including an urban decay palette with £6.00 off.

I then popped on to Evans website where they have a sale on, so sorted my sisters pressie with a further 25 per cent email I had.

And Kurt Geiger have a 25per cent off sale items and full price so got another present from there.

I Also sorted my daughters pressie out on Asos, again some good deals and bought her Uggs she wanted (before the broken leg) at a online shop that sell a lot of desighner name products called yogo ego, if you register they give you 15 percent off your first order so got the Uggs at a good price too, and yes they are authentic.

I also find a good place to check for offers etc in the uk is a website called Money saving expert, they tell you offers, when sales are on and discounts off all sorts of stuff, so its worth checking out. And as we all like to look nice most of us are on a budget so why not save, for example I bought a pair of shoes from Kurt Keiger. On another website they were £60.00 dearer, but because they were already in the sale plus the extra 25 per cent discount at check out I got a good deal.

I love a bargain, dont you?

    It's snow joke

Well as most of you know the snow has been bad here in the uk, and yesterday I had a phone call to say that my daughter had slipped on the icy pavement and was being taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.
I left for the hospital and she was obviously in a lot of pain when I got there, they had to cut her boots and leggings off and she was having gas and air and morphine for the pain.
Apparantly she had just left work and had decided to stop at the shop on her way home and that's when she slipped. I spent most of yesterday afternoon at the hospital didn't get home till midnight, and am back there now as she may have to have an operation.
She has broken her leg in two places the tibia and her ankle and it's not as straight forward as a normal break as it's called a spiral fracture where the bone snaps then twists so it's harder to put back together. There talking about putting a metal rod and plate in their to alighn the bones. Il keep you all posted

    Ojon Volumizing Collection

    Ojon 3 Piece Volumizing Collection

I bought this when it was a to days special value on QVC UK because as most of my readers know due to illness and medication etc my hair has gone very fine, therefore im always on the look out for anything that promises volume.

Limp, lifeless hair will receive a welcome boost with this collection that includes Hydrating Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner. Ideal for anyone with fine, flyaway hair, both help to give hair volume, body and manageability, so it has natural movement. The anti-static formula hydrates without weighing hair down, and the ever popular Tunu Paste gives incredible root lift and flexible hold.
    Collection contains:

    • Hydrating Thickening Conditioner 250ml
    • Tunu Paste 100ml
    Key features:

Ive used this a couple of times now and I really like it as it does what it says on the tin so to speak. It also leaves my hair shiny and as I have dry brittle hair thats a first for me.

You only need the tiniest of amounts as a little goes along way and I believe this collection will last along time.

I also liked the fact that alot of volumous conditioners actually weigh the hair down, well this dosent at all. My hair felt full and bouncy.

Would I purchase again ? yes I would

    UK news weather getting worse

    Headline Photo
Drivers and pedestrians make their way through the centre of York
Large areas of Britain have been brought to a halt as the big freeze tightened its grip on the nation.
Two major airports - Edinburgh and Gatwick - have closed, with motorists and rail passengers also experiencing severe disruption.
A spokeswoman for Gatwick Airport said: "We brought in extra people to try to clear the runway. We had a vast army of people. But as fast as they were clearing the snow, the quicker it settled again."

    Review on Face Atelier Foundation

Hi everyone I recently added a post on here regarding reviewing the Face Atilier foundation. Well I decided to try it out on a day when I was at work so I could really put this to the test.

First of all it went on like a dream I actually started to apply the foundation with a Sigma brush but it seemed to like being applied with the fingers. Now one of the beauties of this foundation is that you don't need to apply a primer to the face before application of the foundation as it has silicones built into it, and it went on like a dream, and you only need the tiniest of amounts.

Now you're all probably thinking what was the coverage like. Well as most of you know I have a small amount of freckles and on first application it covered them but they were still a little noticable so I applied a thin layer of second coat and this did the trick no probelm. After applying the foundation I wondered if I should apply some powder. Well I actually decided that I should as I thought I looked a little to dewy/ shiny. So I applied a thin coat of translucent powder. And applied the rest of my make up.

Did it last the day? Well the answer is yes and no although I must admit It felt very light on the skin and not cakey at all. I did go a tad shiny and it did feel at times as if when I touched my face it would come off, although I have to say that when I got home and looked in the mirror I did still look fresh, I think because it feels so light your thinking it's come off when in fact it hasn't.

I was sent three samples to try Sepia Honey and Tan. I think tan would suit me in the summer when I've been on holiday but I used the Honey to try out as it was closest to my own skin tone.

Over all I would say that it did stay the test of time all day but at £32.00 would I purchase a bottle? Yes I would, but I think IDE wait till the summer as I like the light weight feeling on the skin. I also think if you have oily skin then I might think twice because of the built in silicones might make you look a little shiny. You get 30ml bottle for £32.00 and can be ordered via www. cultbeauty.co.uk or www.cocobeau.co.uk.

     Thanks for Reading

Cher LLoyd animal print nails X factor

Hi, love her or hate her Cher Lloyd an x factor finalist is certainly in the public eye at the moment, and if you saw last weeks performance you might of noticed her quirkey animal print nails.

I had already heard that OPI were the providers of the nail polish worn on stage by the finalists and I love OPI as they have such an amazing amount of shades to chooses from including their cute names as well.

So it came as no suprise to me to learn this, however I did wonder how they had done the animal print desighn.

I used OPI oh so glam and went over it with Barry M nail effects it was really easy to do, not bad for a first attempt.

    What do you think.?

Hi Christmas is just around the corner and as usual I have done nothing. In fact im lazy in that I would rather order off the internet rather than spend hours walking round the shop s(dont get me wrong I love shopping), then to be annoyed when I see the same thing I purchased has been significantly reduced in the new year sale grrr.

But at least I have finally got together after much diliberation my blog Christmas give away. Yes one lucky follower will be winning a gorgeous prize and I have decided to give four things away to one person. There will be something from Mac,  Barry M,  sleek and illamasqua. oh and not forgetting the obligitory christmas false lashes as well.

    Face Atelier foundation

Hi everyone, I had read so much about this foundation that I had some samples sent to me.  Now because the ordering is online as you all probably are aware it can be difficult to get a true colour match to your skin tone.
So they sent me three seperate colours, Sepia, Honey and Tan.

The ultra foundation is apparantly worn by many a celeb including Madona and promises to leave the skin flawless as it has a unique blend of silicone effectvely airbrushing your complexion and it comes in 10 water proof shades that dont shift.

So I will be playing around with this, or probably making it last as it has a high price tag of £32.00, so its worth testing out before you buy the big one.

Il be reporting back to let you know what I think both on here and my you tube channel, so keep coming back for the review.

The foundation can be bought at www.cultbeauty.co.uk also at www.cocobeau.co.uk and www.amazon.co.uk.

Have you tried it yet if so what do you think, is it worth all the hype?

    Charles Worthington volume hair set

Decided to get this for two reasons fist is as you all know due to illness and medication my hair has gone fine, and secondly they had an offer on in Boots of 3 for 2. I bought the shampoo, conditioner and blow dry spray.
I have to be honest and say I do not like it, yes it did add volume but it also dried my hair and gave my hair alot of static,
Ive given the set to my daughter and she loves it, so maybe its just my hair, she has long hair I have short dry hair.
I wouldnt buy this again, but I know some people love it, but thats just my personal opinion.

Shopping trip to Derby cheaper make up brands

On a recent Christmas shopping trip to Derby I picked up some lovely things I went in to Evans where they had a sale on so I got a pair of boots and shoes and a couple of tops. I also went into Lush and got a few gorgeous goodies and looked at the Christmas goodies too.
Then I found a shop in the Westfield Centre called Dazzle as soon as I saw that they had got make up and bags and other girly glitzy goodies I was drawn in.
Well I was like a kid in a sweet shop, they had a shop brimming with make up and handbags, the handbags were gorgeous mostly copies of desighner brands but gorgeous.
Recently someone said to me that they couldnt understand why people bought cheap cosmetics, and if your one of those people, well think again as I have a selection here for your perusal and I love em.
The make up they had were some brands I had heard of like Revlon, Boujouir etc and some ide heard of but not taken much notice of like W7.
I bought a boujouire mascara ive tried it and its brill. Set of false nails by girls with attitude, a revlon highlighter, two sinful nail colours a w7 eyeshadow and blush. The false eyelashes in pic are from Boots.
I was a little sceptical about w7 as its very cheap at just £1.50 for an eyeshadow, however I was pleasantly suprised as the colour pay off is amazing, very buttery and highly pigmented. They had these in a huge array of colours so I might get some more.
Staying with w7 I also got a blusher in pretty pink again highly pigmented very pretty pink, and teamed up with the Revlon highlighter looks a treat.

Next is the Sinful nail polish im loving these as the colours are awesome and they dont chip easily
Loving all these cheaper make up products. Bought from Dazzle.

    Bye 4 now

    Decleor new skin care rigime

    Decleor hydration collection

I love Decleor as a skin care brand and am lucky in that my daughter is a beauty therapist and I can use her discount off the products.
I had been using Decleor for around 6 weeks using the samples from my daughter, and had noticed a considerable change in the plumpness and suppleness of my skin.
Friends and colleagues were asking me what I had had done.
I was so impressed that I decided to go ahead and buy larger size products as I had triald it with the samples and decided it was the new skin care for me.
I have normal to dry skin, so decided to try the Hydration collection, as you also get some body products in there as well.
This would be nice as a present for someone whos into their Decleor as it comes boxed and you get a rather large toiletries bag to hold everything plus more.
Im officially addicted to Decleor now as the smells are all natural as the line is made purely from natural plant extracts, its the only skin care product ive actually look forward to using, silly as it sounds.
The prices are a little on the high end side but well worth it I think, aslo QVC uk do Decleor skin care at good prices and sometimes have the easy pay option.
You could always try one of the starter kits.

    Sleek bad girl palette review

Hi everyone I thought I would share with you all my thoughts on the SleekBad Girll palette. I have both the ltd edition Good Girl and Bad Girl, just havnt got round to reviewing the good girl one as yet.

I love Sleek eyeshadows as they are super pigmented its easy to forget just how pigmented they are for the money, compared to leading brands such as Mac.

You get an amazing 12 shadows in a palette good value for just £5.99.

But I bet your thinking they cant be that good at such a low price, well they are. The Bad Girl palette is a smokey eye girls dream as it has an array of dark colours, ranging from white right down to black.

They are very buttery and smooth to feel and there is a mix of shimmer and matt you need to be very sparing as the colour pay off is amazing.

I did a smokey eye look, please excuse the pics as they were taken at night so lighting not too good

Its a good idea too leave your concealor and foundation till after with this palette as you can get fall out as the colours are so dark.

The outer packaging is cool and very Rock Chic the inner packaging is the same as usual just black.

Il be reviewing th Sleek Good Girl Palette soon ,so keep checking back, and please follow my blog and you tube.
    Bye 4 now

Mac a tartan tale tiny haul

Mac recently bought out yet a new ltd edition set called A Tartan Tale and to be honest there wasnt that much that I really fancied from the collection.

However I did purchase two things that I have to say im not too over excited about as im a little dissapointed as they looked so different on the web page.

This eyeshadow is called semi precious, it looked lighter on the site, ive just swatched it and I must say im not too over keen on the colour, so il have to see where I go with this one.

The next item I bought was the Happily Ever After Lip Kit

The actual case is o pretty in Tartan matrial with a crest on the front, the material feels like felt, so very unusual and pretty casing.

However the lipsticks are very pretty but they all seem to be sheer the colour pay off is pants which is a shame really as it didnt state the colours were sheer on the web, and of course I cant send it back now as ive swatched it.

So my experience hasnt been too good im afraid, although the eye palettes do look gorgeous I couldnt quite stretch to the expense.

I do believe that this is part one of two so lets see what part two of a Tartan Tale is like.

Mac also very kindly sent me a sample of Prep and Prime skim base visage which I believe is like a primar helping your foundation and make up sit better and longer, so il see how I get on with this.
